From the FCA President Feb 1 2026
Here’s what’s going on.
This is how the Foxridge Civic Association (FCA) Board will communicate with the members of Foxridge for the next year. It’s effective, and it’s free. If you provide us your email, we’ll send an email to notify you when something new is posted here.
Regarding communication, we think it’s important you hear from us periodically, so also look for yard signs at both entrances which will read: ”New Info at Foxridgeop.org“ that will alert you to a new communique from us.
You can get info to the Board by making a comment on the home page (that function will be functioning by Monday.)
This is a bit long, but my desire is for you to know what the Board is looking at. This letter will accomplish that.
Thanks to Judy Snider
Judy was our faithful Secretary for over 20 years. We thank her for her dedicated service to Foxridge, and we will miss her wisdom greatly. Godspeed to Judy and her husband, Bruce.
New position: Auditor
Three members of the Board (I, the VP and the Treasurer) live on Circle Ridge. The Secretary does not. This may give the appearance that we might give Circle Ridge preferential treatment. I assure you this will not happen. While the islands from the main entrance in front of St. Giles to Circle Ridge and the first 4 islands on Circle Ridge were mulched in 2023 and are maintained regularly, it is done by a group of residents and without any association funds. I will discuss this later, but just to make sure you are aware, we welcome you to organize to do the same maintaining on your street.
To allay any fears, the Board gives you our solemn pledge that we are looking out for all of the Foxridge development. To assure you that we will keep this pledge, I proposed to the Board at our first meeting on Jan 28 that we institute an Auditor Position to be filled by someone who does NOT live on Circle Ridge. On Friday, Jill Maunz (a prior FCA Treasurer) was contacted and agreed to do this function for you. Jill will review our expenses on a quarterly basis and ensure funds are being expended in a manner that benefits the entirety of Foxridge and post a report on our website.
St Giles entrance sign
To correct misinformation that you may be hearing regarding the St Giles entrance sign destruction and rebuilding, please read the past president’s comments on the tab titled “Sign Update.” It was revised on Jan 26. Short, concise, factual.
Another update: a volunteer has stepped up, and he is exploring an option that may help us get the signage back closer to original look. I will advise as soon as I know more.
FCA’s primary purpose
Please note that the Bylaws, by which the Board has and will continue to operate, are posted on another tab of this website. As you’ll read in Article I, the FCA was created for the specific and primary purpose of furthering the common good and general welfare of the people of the Foxridge subdivision.
As long as I’ve lived here (since 82 with the exception of 8 years that the Navy thought I needed to live in different locations), that has meant the upkeep of the common areas. The other three members of the Board agree.
We have a unique feature in this subdivision: the palm tree islands. They can add value to our property. Or they can detract value. Depends on their upkeep.
Paying a company to kill weeds is far more expensive than if we, as homeowners and stakeholders, adopt an island near our home, and together with your neighbors expend just a little effort to take care of the weeds.
You can do as much as you want to dress up “your” island. A suggestion from last Saturday’s General Meeting is to be careful spraying that you don’t kill the palm trees.
When you adopt an island, please make sure you tell one of the Board members so that we don’t pay to have it tended to. For everyone’s information, for the past two years the association has not had to pay to maintain the 11 islands maintained by residents of Circle Ridge. We have heard that others have been faithfully maintaining islands near them, but we have no record that they are. Please let me know using the contact feature on the home page,
Palm trees: We don’t expect anyone to trim them. Leave that to the pros. Speaking of which, if you are a pro or know a pro, we’d like to discuss an agreement for getting the palms trimmed.
For now, we have paused all expenditures for “island maintenance.” For two reasons:
First, to give everyone time to adopt an island and get that info back to us.
And second, for the new Board to review and renegotiate what we’re paying the current company doing the maintenance. More on that when more is known.
Membership Committee
If you’ve been here a while, you remember we had block reps who’d contact new neighbors to welcome them to Foxridge and ask for their assistance and let them know that the $50 (very low) dues go towards the upkeep of the community.
That Membership committee which coordinated the block reps has faded away. Sadly the Treasurer’s report (which is found on a tab on this website) reflects it. Of our 700 homes, less than 40% pay the minimum $50, several pay more (whom we intend to publicly recognize on our website, with their permission, of course).
It’d be wonderful to have someone volunteer to help reconstitute a Membership Committee, as well as have others willing to join that committee. Members of the Board are previous block reps, and we will help you get things rolling.
Dues (or if you prefer, contributions)
Many people paid their “dues” in the past using the QR Code. We will be publishing that code in the next week or so. In the meantime, if you want to pay by check or if you can use your bill payer program, that would be helpful.
